NewsAppCard, Livelenz and SmartReceipt Showcase Cloud-Based Services on Epson OmniLink i-Series Smart Devices

January 13, 2014

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today at the National Retail Federation’s 103rd Annual Convention and Expo (NRF), Epson America, Inc., a leading supplier of value-added Point of Sale (POS) solutions, announced that three of its software partners, AppCard, Livelenz and SmartReceipt, will demonstrate cloud service applications enabled by Epson’s OmniLink™ i-Series smart devices. The solutions show that platform-independent real-time loyalty programs, data analytics and smart receipts can be added quickly and cost-effectively to virtually any POS system. Epson’s OmniLink solutions provide the data gateway that enables delivery of cloud-based services via Ethernet or Wi-Fi connectivity. Since cloud applications reside on the OmniLink device outside the POS system, retailers gain the benefits of rapid deployment with no need to install additional applications. Paired with Epson’s OmniLink i-Series, AppCard, Livelenz and Smart Receipt applications allow retailers access to line-item transaction data that yields real-time, actionable results – all while maximizing legacy investments with no need for upgrades or integration.

“These three partners were among our early adopters, and they offer some of the best cloud applications we’ve seen”

– Gregg Brunnick, Director of Marketing for Epson’s Business Systems Division

“These three partners were among our early adopters, and they offer some of the best cloud applications we’ve seen,” commented Gregg Brunnick, Director of Marketing for Epson’s Business Systems Division. “OmniLink acts as a gateway to the POS and provides transaction data to our cloud services partners, who, in turn, make that data actionable for retailers and customers alike.”

AppCard – AppCard will showcase a complete retail set-up, including back-end business intelligence insights and analytics reports. The company is focused on making data actionable, empowering retailers to grow customer loyalty and drive repeat business. The solution in the Epson booth will consist of loyalty and analytics, both web- and cloud-based. In addition, AppCard will show the solution running on an iOS device and using Epson’s OmniLink i-Series. For more information, visit www.appcard.com.

Livelenz – Livelenz will showcase how retailers can gain instant access to trending, performance results, gap analysis and predictive modeling to drive sales lift, reduce and manage cost of goods/inventory while minimizing employee theft. Paired with Epson’s OmniLink i-Series, Livelenz offers a platform-independent solution that allows restaurant franchisees, operators and managers analytic capabilities ordinarily only available to larger corporations. Based on this data, they can decide when to best schedule staff, which products sell best at certain times, and how to reduce employee theft – information that helps cut costs while increasing sales. SmartReceipt – SmartReceipt will showcase how retailers can transform ordinary receipts into a targeted, revenue generating marketing medium by increasing frequency and influencing buying behavior.
